80% of dog breeds today did not exist 130 years ago.

The 19th century produced the Doberman, the Bulldog and the Pug- among hundreds of others. This was in part due to human interference and the eugenics that ensued. People wanted nothing more than perfection, and continue to strive for perfection. Perfection is somewhat vague, as no creature is absolutely perfect.

No species is as diverse as the dog. From the hairless Chinese Crested to the mighty Irish Wolfhound- the chorded Puli to the sleek Saluki...and we created this diversity, and we made them the way they are.

Just a few interesting points to discuss.
