Somerville Dog Friendly Music Festival!

Attention all Somerville Dog Owners and/or Music Lovers and/or People Who Want Something To Do On Sunday Afternoon:

I got this in my email box this evening -

Dear Friends of Somerville Dogs,

How often do you get the chance to drink beer and hear live music outdoors with your dog!

If you're like me, you'll jump at the opportunity to do just that on Sunday, September 13, at the Precinct Bar in Union Square. The Precinct Outdoor Music Festival is from 2:00 to 9:00 in the parking lot behind Precinct & The Independent. Tickets are $15.

For your dog's comfort there will be a dog masseuse at the festival If you and your dog need to take a break from the bands and the crowd, the Somerville Dog Owners Group will have a booth in Stone Place Park (adjacent to the festival) from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Be sure to stop by our tent for free dog treats from Polkadog Bakery. In Stone Place Park we'll have canine agility and a rally course, sponsored by City Dog Training. On behalf of the management of Precinct, we'll also be hosting dog contests. Contest prizes include gift certificates from local businesses as well as dog collars from event sponsors, Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Before the Festival on Sunday, the Somerville Dog Owners Group is walking our dogs in the MSPCA-Angell Walk for Animals on Boston Common. It's not too late to register for the Walk for Animals and join our team online: http://www.mspca.org/goto/somervilledog. If you and your dog cannot walk with us, please consider making a donation to sponsor our team. Thank you!

So if you like music, cheap beer, community, and dogs, I think this is where you should be for one of our few remaining nice weekends left of 2009.
